Methas Chantawongs is a Thai art practitioner currently based in Germany. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in filmmaking in 2016, he began working as a sound designer/composer and making avant-garde films independently. By satirically challenging a traditional mainstream, his work weaves together social, philosophical, and human elements through audio and visual context, constantly raising the conceptual questions he is passionate about. His pieces have been screened and exhibited in international film festivals/exhibitions and have received notable awards. Methas moved to Germany in 2024 and is pursuing his master’s degree in cultural media art at Hochschule Darmstadt to develop a media-artistic dimension both practically and academically while expanding his practice into curatorial work.
