Methas Chantawongs is an audiovisual artist who was born in 1994, based in Bangkok, Thailand. He graduated in B.F.A. Film and Digital Media at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in 2016.
His first experimental film “Interference” which was the graduation project, was selected at international film festivals and won the Facade prize at Facade video festival in Bulgaria. In addition, He was a sound designer in “Teun” short animated film that was selected over 20 festivals around the world
In 2018, Methas worked as a co-director of father’s Ongkapayob, an experimental documentary was awarded Vichit Matra in Thai Short Film and Video Festival 22nd.
In 2020, His works were selected in art exhibitions and film festivals around the world, however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, some of them were exhibited on an online platforms.
Currently, Methas is exploring in the religious and scientific context. As a composer, He tries to make his video in the same way of music-making by mixing various elements in terms of instruments. For example, the combination of animation and digital footage to create an experimental image.
